Call for information to catch fugitive Anthony Sitar

Anthony Sitar allegedly fled Melbourne the day he was to be arrested for links to a $300 million drug importation, which saw 134kg of methamphetamine and 14kg of cocaine concealed in beer bottles imported into Melbourne from Mexico.

The Australian Federal Police has released a photo that the 43-year old sent as a private message which details aspects of his life in a coastal city in Mexico popular with tourists and expats. The picture includes a distinctive mural in the background.

The other image indicates his potential age progression and how he might look today. He is believed to be living under an assumed name in Mexico.

He remains flagged as a ‘Red Notice’ fugitive by Interpol. Police suspect he has brokered major cocaine and methamphetamine drug deals on behalf of Australian organised crime groups while living in Mexico.

Sitar is described as being Caucasian, 185-190cm tall, athletic build, brown eyes, with shaved brown hair.
